Kievits Kroon Country Estate, just outside Pretoria, has seen a huge increase in the demand for year-end functions, says Managing Director Alan O’Leary, and the requests have come earlier than usual.
“We have been inundated with requests from companies wanting to celebrate the festive season and the reward their employees with a unique function,” says O’Leary. “Last year many companies seemed to be feeling the pinch, but they appear to be making up for it this year.”
According to O’Leary, companies are requesting tailor-made functions, which may include entertainment, team building experiences and spa treatments.
“At Kievits Kroon, we can assist with all of these requests and provide a private, secure environment for your event,” says O’Leary.
Kievits Kroon has a number of different venues for hire which can cater for all types of functions, from small, intimate gourmet dinners in the wine cellar, to spit braais, themed menus, buffet dinners or cocktail functions and banquets for up to 300 guests.
“Our experienced functions staff can advise on the best choice of venue, décor, menus, refreshments, entertainment, activities and anything else required for your function,” says O’Leary.
“Some suggestions include a braai on the pool deck, a champagne breakfast, a morning of spa treatments followed by a delicious lunch, an evening of dining and dancing under the stars, and massages in the pool gazebo. A lot of functions are also combined with an awards ceremony to recognise employee achievements during the year.”
O’Leary says that one of the things which makes Kievits Kroon ideal for a year-end function is that the estate has plenty of accommodation for guests so that they do not have to drive home after the party.
“We have 142 rooms so we can accommodate up to 284 people at a time,” says O’Leary. “This, combined with the fact that we are located on a secure country estate away from the hustle and bustle of the city, has encouraged a number of big corporate companies to book their year-end functions with us every year.”
